Anglo-Nubian goats are easy to recognise by their strikingly long, drooping ears, which help them release body heat in warm weather. Cameroon rams can look a little like miniature lions. As they mature, the males develop a distinctive dark mane around the neck and chest. Göttingen minipigs “talk” to one another – researchers have identified more than 20 different vocalisations, used in different situations. Our snow-white peacock Frosty is not an albino. He is a rarer colour form of the Indian peafowl. The rabbits in our petting area were originally bred for meat. Diana Mini Farm has given them a chance at a new life.
Yes. If the animals come over to you in the enclosure, you are welcome to pet them. Although our animals are gentle and calm, a little caution is always advisable, especially with children. For the best chance of close contact, sit down on one of the benches and remain calm. Chasing the animals is not only prohibited – it is also completely counterproductive if you want them to come close to you.
Yes. There is a pellet dispenser next to the walk-in enclosure, so you can offer the animals a treat straight from your hand. Feeding them any food of your own, however, is strictly prohibited.
Yes. Visitors may enter the rabbit petting area as well as the enclosure with the rams and goats. The pig enclosure is not open to visitors, but we occasionally take the pigs out for a walk – and if you are lucky, one of them may even roll over and offer you its belly for a scratch. 😉
